Zany Bridge Tutorial;P

I thought the tuitoral we had in viwawa was arguably not stated
properly But I am here to Guide you through in Point form guide I hope
I can help those we really need help in playing this game(: Give postive

Tuitoral Section
Bridge is unlike the other games, most games will only have 1 winner.
But in bridge, you can have 2 or more people to win,
this game you will have a hidden P.
P = Partner

What’s the biggest card in bridge?
Triump card is the biggest card in bridge. *Note To Self: (If you are
one of those gamers whom always play big 2.5, then don't think that in
bridge 2 is your biggest card. It is Trump cards follow by Aces Card

What's Trump Card?
Trump card is all the cards of that suit that what the bidder is
bidding.
Eg. The latest bid made by a player is 1 spade, then all the spade cards
are the trump card.

Cards Odering From Biggest to Small
NT, Spade, Heart, Diamond, Clubs

What's Contract For?
Always look to ur top left, there's a contract and a P card.
Contract is for what you bid to make that suit be the trump card.

How to make a bid and choose ur P?
If your cards are good, have Aces or many k's, Then you should bid, if
not later everyone pass, then all ur good cards will be wash away. :lol
Eg. If you have 2 baby clubs, 2 diamonds(1 ace, 1 baby diamond), 5
hearts(1 ace, 1 k, 3 baby hearts), 4 spade(1 k, 3 baby spades) together
is 13.
Then you can bid 1 heart first, if someone bid 2 club, you can bid 2
hearts, then if all pass, you can choose ur P, choose q hearts to
support ur cards, if you dun want can, choose ace spade maybe! It’s up
to you to choose, it’s ok to choose urself too, but then it will be
everyone against you. *Note. (Choose the card that can support ur cards)
If you decided to choose q hearts, then the person holding q hearts is
ur P. You have to take note. Don’t end up keep eating ur P.

In order to win
Bids/ Bidder and P have to win/ Opponents have to win:
1 / 7 sets / 7 sets
2 / 8 sets / 6 sets
3 / 9 sets / 5 sets
4 / 10 sets / 4 sets
5 / 11 sets / 3 sets
6 / 12 sets / 2 sets
7 / All sets / 1 sets


It means like this:
If the last bid made by bidder is 1, then bidder and his P will have to
win at least 7 sets combined, then the other 2 opponents will have to
win at least 7 sets combined in order to win the game.
If the last bid made by bidder is 2, then bidder and his P will have to
win at least 8 sets combined, then the other 2 opponents will just have
to win at least 6 sets combined to win that round.
If the last bid made by bidder is 3, then bidder and his P will have to
win at least 9 sets combined, then the other 2 opponents will just have
to win at least 5 sets combined to win the game.

Then what’s NT?
NT is no trump. You have to follow the suit by winning a set.
Eg 1. Someone put Ace diamond, and you have no diamond at all, you can’t
trump, the ace diamond will win.
Eg 2. If everybody has no more clubs, only left 1 player have, that
player can continue to play his clubs to win until he have no more
clubs.

Bridge Rules.
You are not allow to say any of your cards out, or if you are the bidder
P, you cannot say, but you can help.

How to help ur P?
Do not anyhow eat your P with any cards, include trump cards.
Eg. your P put ace spade, if you don't have any spade, dun eat ur P with
the trump cards. Just throw away those no use baby cards.

Warning: Dunno = Eat
Eg1. That means if the bidder didn’t choose you, you can anyhow eat
until it’s very obvious or till the person put the P card out.
Eg2. If you’re the bidder, you can anyhow eat anyone until it’s very
obvious or your P is out. *Note.(Do not anyhow give if you can eat,
unless you have confidence. Even if you have confidence, oso just eat if
you can.)

Haha.. It's great that it's comprehensive and clear, but i think i could help to also give a simplified version of some portions, cos i can understand those new or not so gd who needs clarification in bridge may be "blurred" by those technical terms like "trump cards" all these. (:

In bridge, cards are played 1 by 1.

At the start -- When everyone is ready, the 1st thing u will do is to bid - of course when it's your turn. You will see two sections when it's your turn to bid - the amount(i.e. all those numbers), plus the shapes of the card, to choose from.

Meaning of bid.
1st part-The amount.
The amount to bid is very very crucial! Cos it determines how many MATCHES you and your partner need to combine to win.

Calculation
- Number of matches to win - the amount u bid + 6.

- For e.g. if you successfully bid 1, means u + partner = 7 matches [1 + 6 = 7] to win. and so on so forth. The max you can bid is 7 - means both of u need 13 matches to win - dun be crazy to bid 7 unless your cards are ..UNUSUALLY gd. (:

- Meaning of partner - the successful bidder will then choose a partner card, meaning your partner is the one who holds that card u choose, For example, if u are the successful bidder and u choose A spade as partner card, means the player who has A spade is your partner to win together i.e. tag team together.

- On the other hand, if the bidder does not choose u to tag team, you and the other player whom the bidder also never choose [because the game has 4 players] shall win by teaming up together to stop them from reaching their target amount of matches. As simple as that.(:

- So, for bidding, ALWAYS start from 1, NOT a big number, then progress GRADUALLY to 2, 3 and so on - rmb, dun bid too much as shown by the formula. else it's really hard to win.
-> During bidding, dun anyhow suka suka jump the amount too much like from 1 straightaway to 4 - imagine u can juz win by meeting the total of JUST 7 matches, compared to which u have to wait till 10 matches to win, -> because u and yr partner need to reach the target amount of matches BEFORE the game ends i.e. when all the cards are out, and both of you will win. Otherwise if u and yr partner NEVER reach the required amount BEFORE the game ends, the other two players will win.

2nd part. The shape. [I onli explain for NON-NT bidding here. For details of bidding NT, look at the previous post.]

- If your card has quite a lot of big cards of a particular shape, you can give bidding a try. -> Because in bridge, u need to follow what the current shape of the card it is playing now. U win either by the biggest number if all the player put the same shape( the biggest is A ), or if u dun have the current shape playing, u win by putting the card of the BIDDING shape i.e. the shape that u choose should u decide to bid. Look at the part under "contract" to determine whaz the shape the bidder chose.

- Otherwise, if the amount of the respective shape of the cards (for e.g. 4 spades 3 hearts 3 diamonds 3 clubs) are all evenly distributed, or your cards are mostly not so big (like all small numbers),or if u juz dunno how to bid, it's recommended that you DUN bid - because this may drag your partner down and eventually lose.

Who What Where When Why How Bid

Who should bid/ When should you bid:

1) If you have A LOT of As/ Ks OR If you have a lot of the same suit - Like 2345678910 Clubs is very powerful!

2) If you have nothing at all! If you have no big cards OR have like 3,3,3,4 of all suits respectively, it is quite bad.

You may want to try psycho the power players to bid more so its harder for them to win and slightly easier for you to win.

What to bid:
1) Your longest suit - general guideline is if you have
5 of same suit - max bid 2.
6 of same suit - max bid 3.
7 of same suit - max bid 4 and so on.
Really very general k.
2) NT if you have like 3,3,3,4 but many big cards like A or K.

Where to bid/ How to bid:
1) Wait for the window to pop up
2) If previous bid is 1 clubs, and you not happy with it, the min bid you need is 1 dia, and so on.. Of course, 2 is bigger than 1..
3) So click on what you want and click "Bid" - Dun click wrongly or too slowly.

Why bid:

Bid to ensure your longest/ most powerful suit is the "special power" suit - trump suit.

So at the start of the game, players will challenge to see who is confident of winning the most sets by bidding.

If you are confident of winning 9 sets with your unknown P, the highest you can go is 3, NOT 7!!!

So if you are not confident of winning more than 6 sets with your unknown P, try not to bid too high yet.

Unfortunately, Clubs < Dia < Hearts < Spades < No Trump. So if you have 11 Clubs, no point if someone else has 11 Hearts. So the next best thing you can do if you have 11 Clubs is to bid 7NT immediately.

If you do not have like 11 cards of the same suit, DO NOT BID 7NT!!! DO NOT EVEN BID 7 AT ALL!!!
