After knowing min 4 playing, I think it's more exciting than no min game so everytime I play in Zany, most of the time used to play min 4.
I think, different with no min, in min 4 game, player bid if they have really good cards that makes it hard to sabo by player who bidding another suits. So it reduce the chance to made anyhow bid that usually happen at no min game.

I think the question is 'Why do people want to play min 4?'
From what i see, the main reason why people play that is to speed up the increment of xp to level up. Maybe the originator(s) of "min4" rules in Zanny can share more.

Yes, after a few days in Zany Bridge I have found out what Minimum 4 is all about liao. The problem is, is exp really that important? But no doubt, Minimum 4 also has the addition of excitement to the game, otherwise I wun play it.

one of the reasons for winning (or losing) bridge is because the cards are unevenly distributed.
given that the bidder has good cards and bids only 1, what are the chances of you up bidding, assuming your cards are not good enough to bid? on the other hand, if your cards are so good, what are the likelihood of you bidding more than 1 if it is a no min game? i have encountered many situations where the bidder and his partner winning more than 9 sets after bidding 1. playing min 4 to some extent, prevents under-bidding when someone has a good hand, at the same time creates the problem of over-bidding. it is certainly not for the xp that i prefer playing min 4.

mhmm people play min 4 because they take it for granted that cards are automatically shuffled online. Imagine if you're playing bridge IRL and what happens if everyone keeps passing out? It would be a hassle to shuffle right? Min 4 thus offer some people the excitement of making big hands and avoiding a boring game.
However, for people who are more attached to this version of Zany bridge, does that mean that other hands are not worth playing? I personally do not think so. Avoiding a hand just because it's flat and boring, (e.g. a 4333 7-9 HCpoints hand, for example) doesn't that defeat the purpose of playing bridge? =X Min 4 makes us thinks less. We think when we bid, and we probably use our brains the most when choosing the partner (lol!) but then again, isn't the rest of the game reduced to mindless discarding?(especially if the declarer starts drawing trump, and the unlucky defenders'll be thinking, 'oh no i wonder when is this gonna end?') I mean if you guys prefer mindless bridge, rather than 'trying-to-make-the-most-out-of-my-hand-bridge', minimum 4 is for you. Zany bridge, then again, is zany bridge. It is whimsical and simple as its name suggests. =X
