Dear Sushido chefs, The Sushido Arena is found in 2 separate game channels. It is very similar to the competition mode. The 2 channels will be listed at the top of the channels list.
The main differences in the Arena...
The system will only start matching players up if there are at least 10 players in the channel. If there are insufficient players, you will have to go to the normal channel instead. Viwawa Admin Why Sushido Alone? Updates on 16 Sept 2009 - Timeout counter in the arena will now be displayed. The counter has been changed from 100 seconds to 60 seconds. - The recipe/skill selection has also been modified slightly to allow easier selection. - Players who miss 4 consecutive turns will automatically lose the match as if he/she had left midway Frequently Asked Questions Q: I've already blocked this player but I can still get matched with him/her! Why? A: The purpose of the arena is to find the best available matches for each player without discrimination. However, we could mute the chat if you are matched with an opponent whom you have already blocked. Blocking players in arena means being able to choose your opponents (e.g. block all high level players), which completely defeats the purpose of the arena. Q: Why am I matched with someone many levels higher than me? A: This really depends on the available players who are readied up at that moment. The server will pick an opponent of the closest level to join your match within a certain time frame. Hence, if there is no player near to your level within a time period (dependent on number of players available) you may get matched with someone of a relatively bigger level difference. The system will try to give you the best matches most of the time, but there is no guarantee that your opponents will always be equal or close in level to you. Q: How do I get the badges/awards? A: The exact details of how to obtain the badges are not available yet. Players are welcome to discuss their findings in the forum. Q: My opponent refuses to ready up, how? A: The system will automatically start the match in 60 seconds after matching up, even if the players refuse to click on the ready button. Q: My opponents leave the match after seeing that I am high level, how? A: We have included warnings of the high penalties for leaving a match in the arena. After they leave a match, they will also receive a popup showing the amount of gold and experience deducted for leaving the match. We will do as much as possible to reduce such occurrences, but it can not be completely eradicated. Q: I ready up already, but waited so long... haven't match up? A: The system will only start matching if there are at least 10 players available in the arena. If you are experiencing unusually long delays, let us know here and describe your situation as much as possible so that we can investigate for you. Q: Why can't I rematch? A: The arena is meant for matching random opponents. If you wish to challenge your opponent to another match, please do so in the normal channels. Q: Can you set a limit to the maximum level of players I can match up with? A: No. The system will try its best not to match players with huge level differences. However, there will be times when it has to happen. Otherwise, we would be depriving players of extremely high levels of any opponents at all if there is nobody near his/her level at that time. Q: What do you mean by rise in ranking points? A: The ranking in the games has a component called ranking points. It means that players must play in the arena in order to gain points in this component. Q: I asked my opponent not to use any skills or magic, and she refused. Please BAN her!! A: There are no such rules in the arena. Every player is free to use any skill, magic, or recipe in the arena. Q: I am a high level, and sometimes my opponents simply go away from keyboard (AFK) and let me play the match on my own. I will win, but its extremely frustrating to wait for the timeout and quite pointless. A: Players who timeout consecutively for a certain number of turns would be automatically kicked out of the match, as if he/she left the match. | |

Not everyone wants 5s. There are alot of casual players who want 10s as well. We will consider a separate channel for 5s instead. If 10s proves to be far less than desired, it will be removed in due time.
