Monthly Ranking Computation - before June 2010
Monthly Ranking for games is currently computed based on the growth of your Player Skill for the month.

Monthly Ranking Computation - June 2010 onwards
Starting from June 2010, the Monthly Ranking for individual games will be updated to include the growth of your Player Experience in our system's calculation. Before the update, only the growth of your Player Skill was taken into consideration. The component weightage of Player Experience will vary from game to game, and may even be inapplicable for certain games.

Change in Monthly Ranking Table
With this change, Growth will no longer be shown in the Monthly Ranking tables. Instead, a Percentile number will be shown.

This Percentile number is calculated with respect to the ranking score of the top player of the month, whom will be given a Percentile number of 100.00. The rest of the top 10 players get a Percentile number that is indicative of their ranking scores as a percentage of the top player's ranking score. Simply put, the bigger the difference, the more catching up you have to do.

We hope that with this update, existing good players will be able to participate effectively in the Monthly Rankings.

FAQ

Qn: Which game will be applicable with this system?
All games are applicable. However, game specific rules about ranking still applies. For example, for Speedoku, only players who play Arena will get ranked.

Qn: so the player skill is not included anymore?
Gain in Player Skill is still included in the ranking calculation, just that now gain in Player Exp is included as well.

Qn: now is it EASIER for higher levels to get top of the mth? or harder?
It is easier for players who play more to get Top of the month since Player Exp gain is now considered in the calculation.
With the update, most higher level good players should find it easier as well.

Qn: how to get those percentile? is it win a lot and got no lose to get better percentile? how bout if vs high lvl more than us? do we get more percentile?
Definitely winning more and losing less will get you better Percentile numbers, because achieving that will give you better gain in both Player Exp and Player Skills.
Depending on individual game's implementation, playing against higher level players or better skilled players may give you more Player Exp and/or Player Skill pts which will better improve your Percentile number.

Hmm... so it will include both the components of experience points and the game ranking.. so I can infer the experience point contributes to the game ranking, thus the new percentile point system will be determined by the ranking you are currently at? The highter the ranking, the more percentile point a player can get?

To put it in another way, for example, if you're rank number 2 for the monthly ranking, and your percentile number is 95.00, it means your "ranking score" is 5% less than the top player.

The same goes for if rank number 3 has a percentile number of 88.00, it means the 3rd player is has 12% less "ranking score" from the top player.

The "ranking score" determines the ranking. The percentile number is just an indicator of your "ranking score" with respect to the top player.
