Lol, well i dont really subscribe to the "its just a game" philosophy. I cannot forgive serious tactical blunders during the game and I cant stand excuses like "I dont know how to play" if the player hasnt bothered to read the players guide. The partner u talked about, if she had 7-8 small hearts, and she wasnt bidding 3 hearts to avoid a certain suit, then yes she made a serious error. Otherwise, its really just a matter of luck. Assuming someone before her had bid for a suit she does not have, then what she really is doing is just taking a gamble. Sure, she doesnt have a good hand, but what if the partner she chooses has? Its the exact same gamble you make if you do not bid right? Just that you do not have to be responsible for the loss because you did not bid. I think we just have different approaches to the game. I would rather be in control of the game and who I choose for a partner than leave it up to luck from the get go. And anyway, bridge is only a team game once the bidding is over. Think about that.

This kind of situation cannot be avoided...imagine there're so many new players trying out what's Bridge and some, insist on playing Bridge even though they don't know how to.
If you really hate people who don't know how to play, let me tell you one best solution, is not to kick them, neither is it to scold them, they won't learn it this way! Just be nice, teach them how to play and there, one more new player who knows how to play. It's because you guys don't want to help and start ranting about the bad players around, have you even tried making those players "as good as you"? Would you even know how to play if there weren't anybody who taught you or anybody to let you observe how they play? Geez. I'm actually quite grateful that I was only aware of how to play when someone really patient on Viwawa taught me how to play, sadly, the forgetful me forgot his nickname, but I think I added him on my friends list.

the ever-friendly Sleepy solution is really really sweet. i'd really like to do that n be nice n all but, in reality, personally i cant do that haha.
of cos i wont scold them or just kick them abruptly, what i'll do will be to direct them to the Viwawa's guide(where i learnt bridge from) and then ask them to leave. bridge is rather tedious to teach thru typing and furthermore the players that were ready mostly wouldnt wait for you to explain finish. therefore im sorry Sleepy, im not so sweet. :'( but if you can, please go do teach them as i felt Sleepy's "Just be nice, teach them how to play and there, one more new player who knows how to play." was really logical.

I tried teaching... ended giving up... after a few rounds... cos I was already having a headache to begin with and hard to play and type at the same time......:L

acotis, thanks for ur input aka exchange of pointers.
Yeah, i know right from the start that bridge is about teamwork. lol. But what u are bidding, is not just for urself, but more for ur team. Obviously if you haf a fine hand, and pick the right partner who compliments you in ur weaker suit, then things will go just fine. I am just mad at ppl who kept outbidding for the mere reason that "they do not haf a certain suit" :@. Let's view it this way. How would u feel if you get picked by someone who bidded so high for tt reason? And discover your partner has only a so-so hand. Having some **** claiming "oh, we can win 7NT" when clearly, it is impossible. Like that it is not a game of bridge liaoz. It is game of sabotage.
