But seriously, we are currently planning for 1 game competition per month until we can further automate the whole process of a competition.

i think i'm gonna not register and see what the competition becomes like without me. not that i'm afraid to defend; just don't want to stifle some of the newer players who were intimidated and ended up not registering for wcg. maybe there should be some sort of system where the winner of a competition is obliged to step aside for the next?

Hmm, why can't the timings for matches be 24 hours?

Coz' apparently I've not registered / not finished any of this year's competitions due to lack of time.

It is to ensure players can find opponents when online by having a limited competition period. Without which, it would be extremely difficult to find opponents during off-peak times and quite a waste of the player's time.

Another reason is to stop potential match-fixing during off-peak hours.

if you do have to resort to match fixing no way you'll finish anywhere near the prizes when it boils down to elimination.
