Kraken Boss Update (26 Nov 2010) http://www.viwawa.com/forums/new-boss-kraken.17466.html Marzimomo Boss Update (1 June 2010) The first Buffet Wars was launched last night! Many have already defeated the boss, but who will be the first to win the Marzimomo Champion Award? Who would be the first to form the crazy Marzimomo dish? Could it be you? ![]() The rest of this post shall give a detailed information on the Buffet Wars boss. Summoning the Boss The boss can only be summoned using a summoner item. This item can be selected in the match preparation screen as shown below. When a boss summon is selected, the silhouette of the boss will show instead of the usual enemies and the map will be fixed to the boss's map. Please make sure that you have 4 players when you wish to summon the boss, as it would be a very difficult (or impossible) fight otherwise. ![]() Obtaining the Summoning Item There are 3 ways to obtain the summoning item. 1) Attaining the level of the boss The first boss is at level 40. Once you reach level 40, if you had not obtained the summon before via any other means, you will receive the boss summoning item. If you did not receive the item, try playing another match. If you do not get it, it means that you had owned the summon before. Players can start summoning bosses from level 10 onwards. But since the first boss is at level 40, it will be much more difficult for low level players. If you own a summon BEFORE reaching the boss's level, you will not be entitled to a free summon when you reach that level. 2) Using a recipe There is a Summoning Recipe item that will drop at random after you reach level 40. Using this recipe at the inventory screen will allow you to obtain the Summoning Item. 3) Purchase If you do not have the summoning item, the "Boss Summon" icon in the match preparation screen would be faded out. Clicking on it allows you to purchase 1 summoning item. Summoning Item Cool-Down Do note that a single player cannot use a summoning item within 4 hours after its last use. During this cool-down period, the player will have to get friends to do the summon if he/she wishes to fight the boss. Fighting the Boss The boss will always be accompanied by 4 minions, and all of them will be floating in mid-air. The strategy will be very different from normal fights as your targets would be high up. Players may need to use lighter dishes if the target is too high. A boss will typically stay dormant until a certain state is reached. i.e. it will not attack initially. But once it attacks, you will only have a few turns to kill it. Look out for any weak points, they'll make a huge difference to the damage you make. All floating enemies are immune to status-inflicting skills like sticky jam, growing mushroom, etc so you do not need to bring those skills into the match. There is a maximum number of turns for defeating the boss. After the limit, the match will end if the boss is not defeated yet. Rewards All players will be given a WIN so long as all minions are defeated. Killing the boss would be a bonus with higher rewards. After killing the boss, the top scorer in the match will receive a bonus item drop. It is typically not for sale and cannot be obtained anywhere else. All item drops from the boss will expire in 30 days. If you obtain the same item again, the item's expiry will extend to 30 days again. Any upgrades to expired items will be restored after the expiry is extended. For a level 40 boss, there is a chance to obtain a +8 Preservative Grades 1/2/3 by defeating the boss as well. Awards There are 2 awards for each boss. 1 for defeating the boss, and 1 for collecting the entire set of items from that boss. So... when will the boss be available? As promised, it will be by the end of the month. We are testing and fine-tuning it now and it will be released on 31 May 2010.

Even if you're below lvl 40, you can play, by joining the game. You just can't summon the boss, as only lvl>40 players can summon it.

There are 2 dishes that can be obtained only from the boss, but they are of dessert class. We'll be adding dishes from other classes at a later date, hopefully very soon!

A boss can't be "fair" if you think of "fair" as being equal to you in numbers. If the boss has higher HP than you, would you say its unfair too? Yes, the boss has much higher HP than you, but you can possibly deal alot of damage on the boss as well.
Awards = badges +8 preservatives are a chance drop for all players if they defeat the boss. There is no guarantee of this drop. 1 recipe can be dropped directly from the boss. That forms a dish that is also a required ingredient to another recipe. It is virtually impossible to defeat the boss without killing the minions.
