Both are reputed brands with different demographics customers and won the top 5 car brands in 2010.
I'm a BMW fan than Mercs based on aesthetics appeal. As a passenger of both cars, I preferred the comfort ride in 5 series and the modern feel of the interior as opposed to the latter.
The 1 series also look hip & chic with it's sporty hatchback.
Mmmm, the E-class, I see on the road here mostly mid 40's n above or Bosses driving it (pls dun take offence, I dun mean to pin-point any particular group of people) . For instance, I've friends who are hard-core BMW drivers whereas, my uncle in his 50s, die die also must buy a 2nd hand Mercs E-class after his renault.
