Default Basic Strategy Guide for DEFCON 1

1. Understand the importance of Combatant Population and Tower Limit and how you can earn Resource Points to increase them in battle.

2. Maximize your Officer Points. To progress in your career in DEFCON 1, your Officer Points are the most important. Battles have been won by superior officers with weaker units. Get your Ace medals before you are about to level up or else once you level up, the opportunity to get more Officer Points is gone.

3. Walls are your friends, well, sometimes. Walls are a cheap and effective way of diverting enemy units into your towers' killing zone. But remember, more walls means less towers. And do you hear a Doozer rumbling towards your walls?

4. Combatants are expended the moment they are launched, so if you are about to win, don't waste them.

5. Grasp how towers select their targets and attack them, then you will be able to effectively dispatch unit combos and make sure they reach the enemy base.

6. The only free and unlimited units are the Trooper and Guardian. Use the Trooper effectively as shield for your other units.

7. Towers are not deducted when they are built. They are only deducted from your inventory when they are destroyed by anti-tower units.

8. Learn how and when to use your Officer Skills. If triggered at the right time, skills can be very effective for destroying enemy units and inflict maximum base damage.

9. What type of general do you want to become? An aggressive war-mongering attacker or a calm, entrenched bastion of defense? Is it better to be a generalist or a specialist? Whatever you decide, your selection of Command and Strategy points, Stars and Crosses should complement your career strategy.
